Description
Vetus Maps - a project offering users access to historical and even ancient maps of specific regions of our planet (from those that have survived to our time in a usable format and are now publicly available), along with the ability to overlay them on modern satellite imagery. This helps people with diverse interests and goals navigate terrain, understand what and where things were in the past, and receive hints for future exploration of hidden echoes of history.
Vetus Maps - an intriguing and unique program allowing you to view ancient maps using modern technology. If you're a historian or archaeology enthusiast, this collection of maps will captivate you.
Interestingly, you can explore historical maps with your current location. The tool is completely free, though some specialized regions of interest may require a separate purchase. If you want to immerse yourself in history and walk through sites of battles and early civilizations, you'll love this program.
Destroyed or lost locations can be discovered on these maps. The built-in functionality allows layer overlay for easier and more accurate viewing of areas of interest. Abandoned churches, settlements, and temples, along with much more, can be found on the integrated maps. Developer-placed markers enable deep exploration, archaeological expeditions, and analysis of peoples inhabiting these regions.
