MAME4droid is an arcade machine emulator for Android. A recent fresh update added support for Android 13. If your smartphone or tablet runs Android 11 or newer, you can now store and read ROM files from an external memory card. Better still, MAME4droid lets you keep your game saves in the same folder as your ROM files. The developers also squashed several bugs.
The creators point out that the game files are not bundled with the app itself, and it supports more than 8,000 ROMs. That said, don't expect even flagship devices to run every arcade game from the 1990s at full speed or with perfect compatibility. The library is simply too large for every title to be fully maintained.
How to install
- Download the APK file above to your phone.
- Allow “Install unknown apps” when prompted.
- Open the downloaded APK and tap Install.
- If the package includes OBB/XAPK data, follow the bundled instructions.
