Description
Limbo is a bleak adventure from the studio PlayDead, filled with merciless trials, black-and-white scenery, and experimental platformer mechanics. The developers send the story to the edge of hell: into a fantastical forest inhabited by strange creatures who wander through dreams and have already turned into genderless ghosts. Among these bizarre characters, the protagonist, a nameless boy searching for his own sister, tries to survive while also trying to make sense of the quirks of his own existence.Gameplay, Atmosphere and Difficulty
By genre standards, the game mechanics in this adventure are fairly familiar (though Limbo leaves more of the story unexplained). The protagonist searches for his missing sister and must therefore move across the map in search of a girl of unknown appearance. But the faster the playthrough progresses, the more questions arise.Beyond the frightening story, the platformer is also dangerous in another way: on screen, the player can sometimes make out neither the light in an improvised tunnel nor any hints about which direction to take to reach the next stage. And along the way, the little hero also encounters a person, but not an ordinary one, literally torn to pieces. How exactly? That is what makes the local universe interesting: you'll have to figure out every detail yourself…
