Description

Designed specifically for Nissan Leaf owners, Leaf Spy Pro links with a compatible ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter on your Android smartphone or tablet to uncover advanced diagnostic metrics and real-time battery status that are generally reserved for certified dealerships.

Keep in mind that many cheap ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth scanners from overseas have experienced hardware downgrades, falsely reporting firmware version 2.1 and failing to communicate with the Nissan Leaf. Additionally, the previously favored Konnwei KW902 Bluetooth adapter should be avoided due to faulty units circulating in the market that can short the vehicle's CAN bus while connected (though disconnecting typically resolves the issue without permanent damage).

Starting with update 0.39.97, LeafSpy Pro added native compatibility for approved Bluetooth 4.x LE hardware. The top recommendation is the LELink unit, which requires zero manual pairing steps, draws significantly less battery power from both your vehicle and phone, and also functions seamlessly across platforms.

Data Provided by Leaf Spy Lite & Leaf Spy:

* Voltage readings across all 96 battery cell pairs (highlighted whenever shunt is active) * Lowest, average, and peak cell pair voltages * Real-time cell pair voltage distribution histogram * Temperature readouts from internal battery sensors (4 sensors on 2011/2012 editions, 3 on 2013+ models) * Battery AHr measurement to monitor degradation and overall capacity retention over time * Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) * Current odometer mileage * Total count of Quick Charge cycles completed * Total count of Level 1 and Level 2 charging sessions * EVSE maximum amperage capacity * Incoming EVSE line voltage

Expanded Metrics Available in Leaf Spy:

* Accurate battery charge levels reported in GIDs and kWh * Resettable trip energy counter displaying precise Wh consumption * Dynamic visual readouts for State of Charge (SOC), GIDs, and estimated Distance to Empty (DTE) * Projected remaining range until essential alerts (Low Battery Warning, Very Low Battery Warning, or Reserve threshold) based on your custom efficiency profile * Graphical battery pack temperature monitor showing minimum, average, and maximum levels * Independent tire pressure tracking for every wheel with customizable low-pressure and delta-variance alerts * Exterior ambient temperature reading * Detailed trip data and optional GPS position logging saved to CSV spreadsheets for quick review in Excel

Upgrading to the Pro release unlocks dealer-level configuration tools. You can customize auto-door lock and unlock behaviors, scan onboard Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), clear logged fault codes on supported ECUs, and re-register tire positions following wheel rotations or tire swaps so your dashboard displays exact wheel locations accurately.
