Ghostly VPN is an open-source VPN and proxy client that runs on multiple platforms and is built around the Xray core. It is available for Android and Windows today, with macOS, iOS, and Linux support on the roadmap. The app pairs flexible subscription management and smart routing with automatic server selection, real-time connection monitoring, and a clean, modern interface.

Ghostly VPN is a client, not a VPN service itself. It works with compatible VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks, and Hysteria2 subscriptions or individual configurations, so you can connect to your own servers or to compatible subscription providers.

Ghostly VPN supports a broad range of Xray-compatible configurations, including:

• Fast TCP latency checks for available servers • Real connection latency testing through the Xray core • Automatic server switching when a connection becomes unavailable • Connection monitoring that periodically checks whether traffic is actually flowing through the tunnel • Automatic reconnection after network interruptions

On supported desktop setups, the client can also reuse a single Xray process when testing multiple servers.

🧭 Smart Routing

Traffic can be handled according to configurable routing rules. You decide which destinations go directly over your regular connection, which use the VPN tunnel, and which are blocked.

The app also includes predefined routing behavior for selected domains, ad-blocking support, and configurable DNS resolvers.

🔐 Open Source & Transparent Architecture

Ghostly VPN is released under the GPL-3.0 license. On Android, it links the VpnService TUN interface directly to the Xray networking core, while the desktop version relies on Xray together with system proxy or TUN functionality.

The project checks the Xray core used during the build with SHA-256 checksums. Xray is distributed under its own MPL-2.0 license, and the AndroidLibXrayLite component is licensed under LGPL-3.0.
