FaceNiff serves to intercept web sessions. The app works as follows: you connect to a public Wi-Fi network; the utility scans the shared access point and detects sessions available for interception.

The user selects a "victim" and, after waiting a few seconds, can already send messages on behalf of the "victim" from their social network or forum account, place orders on websites, and perform other unauthorized actions.

Features

The application's principle of operation is based on traffic transmission vulnerabilities. Thus, only the user login/password verification step is encrypted. Further access to the account is maintained by standard tokens sent along with the website's cookies. These tokens are easy to intercept using the FaceNiff app and, consequently, take control of the account right up until the victim logs out themselves and friend-or-foe verification via cookie files stops.

The vast majority of websites suffer from this issue, even well-known ones like FaceBook, Twitter, Amazon, VKontakte, Evernote, Dropbox, and others. Not to mention regular forums, ordinary online stores, and user-generated platforms.
